Ben Wilson

 

Both a talented and inventive musician, Ben is the trumpet player in New Old World. Multi-faceted in his musical skills however, Ben also performs some backing vocals and additional percussion on occassion.

 

Ben's playing style is heavily influenced by Jazz musicians such as Kenny Wheeler, Miles Davis, Snarky Puppy but conversely rock artists also such as Iron Maiden, Blind Melon and Yes. Consequently Ben's performances include a strong bluesy vibe with a free feeling and at times, improvised style.

 

A previous member of the Ska-Punk band 'Skaciety', Ben has had a range of performing experiences both in studio and live, experience which is evident in his engaging stage pressence and proffesional live performance.
